MT-2 (Melanotan II) is a synthetic analogue of naturally occurring melanocortin peptides and is widely studied in research investigating melanogenesis, melanin production and pigmentation pathways.

Often referred to as the “tanning peptide,” MT-2 is of particular interest in laboratory research exploring how melanocortin receptors influence melanocyte activity, melanin synthesis and cellular pigmentation pathways.
